Advanced Post Block is a flexible plugin for displaying WordPress posts, pages, or custom post types using the Gutenberg editor. It offers multiple layouts and filtering options, making it useful for content creators who want greater control over how content appears on the front end.
This plugin is suitable for anyone who wants to present content in a structured, responsive format using native WordPress blocks. It allows fine control over content queries, metadata visibility, featured image handling, and more, without the need for coding.
Choose from various display styles:
Grid: Arrange posts in a column-based format.
Maso…
I have tested about 5 plugins for multiple post display in Grid layout. The most popular plugin did not support Custom Post Types in the starter (free) version thus, it was a non-starter for me. For me, it is an important missing functionality to continue testing. I’d rather test the most important functionality for a plugin and if it is good, I shall definitely pay for the extra options. There were other plugins which supported CPT but they were so primitive in styling options.
Advanced Post Block is by far the best. Excellent CPT support right from beginning and lots of control for the styling. I am now building my site and I shall definitely buy the pro when I decide to go operational with my site.
I have been testing only the starter (free) version. But the good thing about this plugin is, it has all the functionality displayed in the starter version and the paid ones are just not activated. Thus you can see what you will get with the paid version and there are definitely functionalities you will want to have for an operational site.
One important advantage of this plugin is that, it is only for Gutenberg. Thus, it feels native in Gutenberg block editor unlike some other plugins which make you define your grid block etc via their menu item. And I also assume, because of this, it has lighter, cleaner code and optimized for Gutenberg, as the developer does not need to have considerations and the extra code for other stuff like for elementor, bricks etc that I do not need and I do not want to carry unnecessarıly on my sıte.
Just to add, maybe the following could be considered as added functionality for the paid version:
1- Having an option to display the ‘Read More’ button at a fixed place, rather than “just after the last info piece” (I think excerpt) which gives an uneven look.
2- A variation of “Overlay Content Hover” subtype which displays also title.
3- Possibility to include excerpts from one or two Custom Fields on the display. It is great that the paid version already supplies taxonomy display and Custom Field display would add value.
4- Possibility to change Layout mode from device to device. Say; specify Grid layout display for the desktop but slider for the phone.
5- Option to specify a “sticker” on the post display with a text, and choices of style and location on the form.
6- Option to display posts in the order based on the value of a numeric custom field or a taxonomy
Hi there,
Looking at Awstats from cPanel, it seems like file called “bsdk_config.json” located in “/wp-content/plugins/advanced-post-block/bsdk_config.json” is causing huge amounts of access from visitors.
I had about 100k visits on this file just on the beginning of January (in January only) before I disabled this plugin. No other plugin does this. Because I’m concerned about these usages, I’m fearful of using using this plugin on any of my websites until this is fixed. There’s no reason for so much access to this file.
Now I don’t know if something else is causing this, but I noticed it on my other websites as well. I’ll check closely where I actually used the block from this plugin, but it really is concerning.
I had problems with Advanced Post Block. This was fixed with help of the support. Very good.
Charging a montly fee to use the pro features is a joke. You offer nothing to warrant the montly fee. It should be a one off payment for something like this. Dont waste your time with this.
Amazing plugin, with now option to showcase pages instead of posts as well. Just perfect!
