Ajax Search Pro does exactly what I needed it to do: search a complex database of 23,000 rows with simple user controls. I’ve been using Ajax Search Pro for almost 3 years in a WP multisite with hundreds of big posts and the plugin works perfectly! But what is even more astonishing is the support I got whenever needed!
