Crisp – Live Chat and Chatbot

Paid might be awesome, but don’t bother with freemium.

It’s easy to setup with WordPress. They auto upgrade the free account to paid account trial on signup, so it’s confusing what features are available on the free plan. Once you work out how to downgrade to the free plan, you can then you can see which features are paid addons… a lot.

I think they could be more transparent what’s available in the free version vs paid, so that small business or hobby sites don’t have to go through the whole install before hitting ‘upgrade now’ road blocks.

For me, choosing the black chat theme then being given #2a2a2a (grey) only to find they’ve obscured & randomised all the CSS classes behind a $45 a month paywall... was enough to move on to another liveChat option.

J’utilisais auparavant Tawk.to comme chatbot sur mes sites web. Lorsque j’ai décidé d’installer Crisp pour essayer, je l’ai immédiatement adopté.

En n’ayant rien fait d’autre que l’activer dans mon dashboard, il était en place et gérait nativement le multi-langue. La personnalisation du widget est très simple et je peux assurer le support client sur mon PC ou depuis l’application mobile. Bref, je ne cherche plus d’autre solution de chatbot !

Like using it

I used Crisp many years back on another woo project as a paid client; now I’m using it again on a new woo startup project, this time on the free tier while I’m bootstrapping; and it’s even better than I remembered.

Gijo of WP Speed Matters recommends it, and uses it himself on his flagship site, FlyingPress; if you’re running an ecomm operation, milliseconds = $. He’s right: Crisp is crispy fast.

To say the woo integration is useful would be an understatement.

The web app, mac app, and iOS apps all have beautiful UX; and the UX for the user is equally as elegant.

And then, lastly, if you dig into their delightful docs, theirs a lot of hidden gold in dollar crisp and webhooks that really put the icing on the cake; and which are quite useful while you’re bootstrapping a startup. Thank you Crisp! Wish me luck!
