I have tested most of dark mode plugins in the public WP repo. Most of them are bloated and load too much JS and CSS, for me absolutely unusable.
After I tried this I stopped testing as it has all the features I need and loads next to nothing. 10KB compressed, that’s hard to beat it.
I hope they will make an update, at least confirming that it is fully working with the current version of WP.
Hello,
I tested many plugins before settling on DarkLooks, which is compatible with the latest version of WordPress and easy to learn.

I tested several dark mode plugins and found this one to be one of the best. The noteworthy aspect is that it offers numerous settings even in free mode. With a simple switch, it transforms the site into a dark theme. Additionally, it includes a visually appealing switch skin, which i like. 5 stars!
Works great, easy to setup, lots of options!
Thank you for making this 🙂
Switch appeared in desktop browser (Safari) but not mobile (again, Safari). Don’t know if the function actually works in desktop, because I use Noir, and I’m already in dark mode all the time anyway.
But it definitely didn’t work when viewing my site on my iPad for whatever reason.
