Build a blog-less WordPress site.
Disable Blog is a comprehensive plugin to disable the built-in blogging functionality on your site. You’ll be free to use pages and custom post types without a blog.
The blog is “disabled” when the plugin is activated, which removes support for the core ‘post’ type, hides blog-related admin pages/settings, and redirects urls on both the public and admin portions of the site. Refer to the GitHub readme file for a detailed functionality list.
You need to select a page to act as the home page. If Settings > Reading > “Front Page Displays” is not set to show a page, then this plugin will not function correctly. Not doing so will mean that your post page can still be visible on the front-end of the site…
Works great, good support!
Good one but I wish it could also disable any posts from being added in Posts section, as hackers could still post via other tools.
This plugin evidently does what it says it does – disable the blog features in WordPress. This can be useful for those who only want pages in their websites.
I have a problem, though. I decided to retain the blog functions, rather than switch to pages. Because of this I no longer needed the disable blog plugin. I deactivated it; but when I tried to remove it, it hung. Then I received the message: “Deletion failed:”
This message gave me no useful information as to how to remove the plugin. I consider this a serious problem, because it suggests the plugin itself is not robust. That, in turn, could mean that the plugin may be vulnerable to exploits.
for a top plugin! thanks
Does what is says 🙂
