Automatically sets the featured image to the first image uploaded into the post (any post type with thumbnail support). So easy like that...
As of April 2026, Easy Add Thumbnail is a WordPress thumbnail plugin with 8.0K+ active installations and a 4.5/5 rating from 52 reviews. It has been downloaded 168K+ times in total. Requires WordPress 4.7+ and PHP 5.6+. Available on WordPress.org since 2010. Last updated 2 years ago — may have compatibility concerns. Downloads are down 11% this week. Top alternative: Regenerate Thumbnails.
NOTE: This plugin functionality is guaranteed by more than 10,000 active installs. But before installing this plugin bear in mind that its only purpose is to ADD the feature image ID to your post (in the same way that you would do using WP editor), it does not remove ANYTHING after deactivation.

Really great plugin. Simple and effective. And very clean code.
