This is the only plugin (that I know of) that actually checks VAT numbers against VIES for free. I had an issue (my own fault) with the plugin on my block based (FSE) setup but customer support was fast, responsive and helpful.

This plugin has been a lifesaver for our WooCommerce store! We sell to businesses across the EU and the UK, so managing VAT compliance had become a real headache. However, the EU/UK VAT Validation Manager handles everything seamlessly.
Real-time VIES validation works flawlessly — customers enter their VAT number at checkout, and the plugin instantly verifies it and adjusts the tax accordingly. AJAX validation is smooth and doesn’t require any page reloads, keeping the checkout process professional and quick.
