Images make up a critical part of all websites and mobile applications these days. They are the centerpieces of a great product and user experience. Managing your images and delivering the perfect image, tailored and optimized for your user’s device is, therefore, more critical than it has ever been. However, this takes up a lot of development and maintenance time that could have otherwise been used in building your core product. This is where ImageKit can excel.
This plugin will automatically update all the image URLs in your post so that images are fetched from ImageKit for optimization and faster delivery instead of your web server.
Best free cdn images for wordpress etc.
To be very honest I have used ImageKit before but this is the first time using it with WordPress and I must say the plugin works flawlessly. The only shortcoming of the plugin is that it doesn’t replace the image URLs inside the CSS (like background images). Which was a big negative in my opinion.
If I consider this plugin like a CDN plugin then both CDN Enabler (by KeyCDN) & W3 Total Cache CDN replaces image URL inside CSS files, inline CSS & internal CSS but for some reason, this plugin does not.
So, if this plugin also provides that feature in future will definitely update my review to 5 stars and can wholeheartedly recommend this to all my WordPress clients.
Honestly this is far far better then other over rated plugins , we have used some other plugins in past & most of these will trick you to buy premium packages but thats not the case with Imagekit these guys look pretty transparent with customers right now. everything is well explained & its pretty easy to configure.
I’ve become a huge fan of Imagekit over the past year of using it. It’s easy to get started with and more important for myself, it’s highly configurable. At first I was a bit apprehensive when I saw Imagekit advertise the variety of sites and frameworks they integrate with because that often means that something like this WordPress plugin ends up poorly maintained or with incomplete functionality because resources are spread too thin.
But this plugin’s been rock solid since I’ve been using it. No bugs (that I’ve noticed) and it supports all the functionality and customization that the service provides. I suppose one exception is that there’s no way to sync your WordPress media library images with Imagekit’s media library, so I’ve had to handle that myself with their API.
The only other thing I’d like to see improved with this plugin is the option to configure settings using constants in wp-config.php. I manage a multisite installation and have to manually configure the same settings on each site.
Use Amazon CloudFront CND is very google.
