Forget everything you think you know about selling your book online. We’re changing it. You won’t need SSL certificates, shopping carts, or piles of books in your basement. All you’ll need is a WordPress website. Oh, and a book.
MyBookTable allows you to have your own bookstore that links to online bookstores where visitors can buy the book.

With a simple interface, help text and tutorial videos, MyBookTable is designed with the novice user in mind. In version 2.0 we made MyBookTable even easier to use with usability improvements throughout the plugin.
Easily control which books appear at the top of your book table page with a simple drag-and-drop interface.
This was a good plugin at one time. It appears to have been abandoned. No updates or ticket responses in 5+ months. I have a client whose site continues to break with every WP update. I’m about to abandon this plugin on her site and recommend anyone looking at it read through some of the help tickets first. No answers to be found.
I bought both MyBookTable Bookstore and the Professional Upgrade 3.0. These worked for a time. When I updated my website to the Divi theme, I kept getting an error message Invalid License Key despite entering this key in several times. No workaround for this yet, and this has been raised a year previously.
my site went into “critical failure” because of an update that won’t go through and this has happened multiple times. I have had no recourse to a workaround on this and if there is a bug fix i haven’t been able to find one. in the meantime my site has lost a whole lot of functionality – when it is up at all. Not impressed.
I am a user of this plugin for years. I also paid for the professional upgrade. Unfortunately the plugin isn’t updated that often, and with all the WordPress developments it can use an upgrade again.
For example, php 8 is still not supported.
My whole website is based on this plugin, so switching would be a nightmare, but I consider it.
I am an author of over a dozen books. I use the professional MyBookTable plugin, and find it worth the price. Overall I find it to be incredibly useful and an invaluable part of my website. I like the ability to add my book descriptions easily to individual blog posts, and to aggregate a list of online retailers for my book.
There are two areas where the plugin could be improved in the future:
A) Make the book cover the post’s automatic featured image. Currently, it defaults to the site’s default image instead. Under Screen Options there is no way to add a featured image to a book, so the post thumbnail is not the book cover. I’ve worked around this for social media by installing Social Rocket for the time being.
B) For accessibility reasons I use a tablet to design my site, and currently, adding book links to other retailers must be done on a desktop or laptop computer, and trying to do so on a tablet, the field where you paste your book’s link is greyed out, so I always have to switch gears and use a computer.
