Top alternative: The Ultimate Video Player For WordPress….
SmartVideo is a YouTube alternative that replaces YouTube and Vimeo embeds on your WordPress site with a clean, ad-free video player served from a global CDN. No “Recommended Videos” pulling visitors away. No YouTube branding competing with yours. Just your content, loading fast.

This plugin is a pretty smooth and seamless way to get a video CDN that works well with Vimeo. Eventually Vimeo started trying to charge us for bandwidth at a very high rate and Swarmify was a big help in getting the costs down. Videos load fast and support is helpful and personal.
I have few questions and support is too slow to respond, and not even provide the information needed.
Since Swarmify doesn’t provide way to view or know what Vimeo videos were automatically uploaded to their global delivery network, I wanted to create our own inventory page on our WP admin to tally those videos. In order to do that, I’ve been wanting to know how to get the video URL, if somehow Swarmify saves it on our (client) database. Just by inspecting the video element on the page (where Vimeo is automatically converted to SmartVideo), I can only see the video src is blob url, not an actual video source from global delivery network.
I’m asking as well if the SmartVideo will still work if I remove the Vimeo embed on an article post that is already converted to SmartVideo. The support’s response to me is it’s okay to delete the video on Vimeo. But what I’m asking is deleting the embed on the actual post article. I still tried removing the Vimeo embed on the article and the SmartVideo player disappeared as well, which I’m guessing the smartvideo still depends on the Vimeo embed to work (I’m thinking they might be saving something like ID or URL connected to the post, so even if the Vimeo embed is removed, the SmartVideo is still able to fetch the video from their global delivery network). If that’s how it works, I’m fine with it, but I still need confirmations and information, specially if you’re a pro subscriber.
Conclusion: The plugin works, lacks feature that allow users to see what videos are automatically uploaded to their global delivery network, and support is slow/unreliable. I’ll change my review if I get proper support.

I’ve been using the plugin since it was released and I absolutely LOVE IT! I use it on all my websites and on client websites. It’s sad that all the freebie-seekers took time to give 1-star reviews, bringing down the average. It’s an absolutely great plugin that I highly recommend… HIDES ALL THE YOUTUBE BRANDING, and all the annoying Related Videos pop-ups at the end. Makes our videos look super-professional.

The plugin suggests that it’s free, but basically all you get are the files. before using it, you’ll have to make an account to get PAID access
Hi, I am a paid user and have been using swarmify for more than a year now. Just to highlight, this plugin is for a paid service. If you have this specific use case of videos for your LMS, websites, etc.. this is a great tool to have. The support they provide is great if you have any issues pertaining to the use of their services.
