I’m using Converter for Media on my WordPress website facetheaction.be, hosted on Cloudways (Lightning Stack).
I contacted Matt Plugins support regarding a technical issue with Pass Thru mode and a “passthru_execution” error caused by server-side PHP execution restrictions. Even though the limitation turned out to be related to my hosting configuration (Cloudways blocking PHP execution in /wp-content), the support team responded quickly and clearly.
What I appreciated most is their honesty. Instead of pushing a complicated workaround, they clearly explained that Pass Thru mode is generally slower and not recommended, and that there is no workaround if PHP execution is blocked. The answer was direct, transparent, and technically correct.
Converter for Media itself is an excellent plugin. It works reliably, improves performance significantly with WebP/AVIF delivery, and integrates well with modern hosting environments like Nginx stacks.
Clear communication, fast response time, and a solid performance-focused plugin. Recommended.
