Overview
Important Note About WP Geo 3.3+
This update now uses Google Maps API v3. While it should continue to work OK it you have simply installed and are using a previous version of WP Geo, if you have customised your templates or used any filters you may need to update your code to work with this version of Google’s API. Please submit any bugs or issues here…
When editing a post or page, you will be able to set a physical location for that post and easily embed a Google map into your post. You can select the location by:
- Clicking on the map of the world to position the point.
- Searching for a location, town, city or address.
- Entering the latitude and longitude.
The WP Geo location selector is styled to fit seamlessly into the latest version of the WordPress admin.

Great and easy to add of maps

In general it is awesome. It works most of the time as it should. The only issue that coordinates from google maps are off a little bit so need to adjust manually.
The plugin seemed broken with the new version of WordPress 6.8.1, but re-installing the plugin from scratch seems solved the issue.

used to be awesome, but now I can’t get the widget to show clickable links to my posts anymore, and that was the best benefit of this plugin for me.

I find this plugin very powerful and flexible, and it cnado most of what I want. the wpgeo_map_js_preoverlays hook is especially helpful in getting overlays to display. I wish there were a way to pass post data in to the preoverlays hooks, so as to customize the overlays for particular maps or post categories.
Still, pretty awesome.

Google Maps API V3 using is a bit confusing, but it seems that you don’t need it to get it work…
