WPvivid — Backup, Migration & Staging

I was struggling to get a friend moved off of Network Solutions/IPage hosting. This was the only backup solution I could get working on the platform. Thank you for delivering me from hell. Using it now for daily Google drive backups on Hostinger.

I have been using WPVivid Backup (free and a bit later also pro) for about 4 years and really like it!

Positives:
– You get a normally organized back-up file in standard zip format – can be opened directly your computer (unlike other plugins which use proprietary formats or split the back-up into a confusing number of files)
– You can restore sites just using the free version (unlike other plugins which impose size limits)
– It works reliably. – I have been using the free version (and soon later the pro version) with Dropbox for about 4 years – no issues!
– I have regularly tested recovery or put a site up for testing purposes on a different server / in different hosting environments. I never had any problems recovering it. (I am quite paranoid about back-ups – therefore I do test regularly, although it never failed me!)
– The plug-in comes with a helpful unused image cleaner, which I also like using.
– Support is very fast and very helpful. – In those 4 years, I only encountered a bug once with the pro version (setting up an additional cloud provider, which I had not used before). I contacted pro support and I got an email back within 1 hour (!) acknowledging the issue. After about 2 hours (!) I got a plug-in file with a fix – it was immediately working! The bug was fixed in the next release about 2-3 days later. – This is how support / bug-fixing should work – much better than my expectations to say the least!
– The pro-version is attractively priced. I always buy the pro version for all core plugins I use to support the developers.

Our WordPress site was hit by a Russian casino hack — 93 malicious files injected across wp-admin and wp-includes. The site was completely broken.
