I made two support requests last week. All I received in response to both was that a support ticket had been created. However, I can’t find it. A request in the customer portal also remained unanswered. I have a Pro version. However, I am now considering removing Cryout Theme from my site.

The images on the landing page in the post preview are blurry.

As you can see from the support forum, there is no support at all from the author. The good reviews reflect the actual look and feel of the theme, but if you need some help, you’re not going to get it. I had to figure out everything on my own, and make adjustments without any aid.

First, I must say that Theme Designers are probably masochists. They have the CMS (like WordPress) on one side telling them what and how. Then they’ve got website designers with multiple time-sensitive demands and finally they’ve got novice designers like me who have no idea what they’re doing. There’s no way they can win…!

FLUIDA is a wonderful theme. It does some marvelous things. I love the way it handles the slider and the animated titles for the slider. The Landing Page Icon Blocks and Boxes are wonderful. There’s animation with the boxes. With the PLUS theme the sections of the Landing Page can be put in almost any arrangement. That’s made it possible for me to split my verbiage into small sections placed between the slider and icons and boxes.

I read some reviews of all sorts of themes and the complaint often is the result of the lack of understanding as to what a theme actually is. What it is NOT is a solution. It’s a TOOL. Don’t complain because you picked up a flathead screwdriver to screw in a Phillips-head screw. If you’re not familiar with screwdrivers then you may not notice the difference.

To test FLUIDA I did set up a TEST-Sub-Domain. Highly recommend you do the same. Things go wrong with Widgets, Plug-Ins and Themes. And some things did go wrong with FLUIDA. I had problems with the color scheme. I had problems with the menu. Zed & the Cryout Team helped me as best they could. But my problems were more or less functions of how WordPress works. Zed even told me they tried to implement the basic color scheme idea that I wanted in a different theme and it proved disastrous. Some themes set the colors and you can’t change them. FLUIDA lets you pick colors to match your style. It was easy to modify my color scheme.

The menu problem proved more difficult to solve. However, FLUIDA came to the rescue. It was the Icon Blocks that fixed that. It made for a nicer, more fluid, easy to follow Landing Page and Menu. I am extremely happy with the final result. In fact, I wish I could say that I had wanted to set up my Landing Page like it is now. It’s really very nice. Much more fluid than my original design. Also, the PLUS version lets you modify the templates for pages. So my Categories page looks different from the Posts.

Cryout Creations has a great support team. If you post a question on the FORUM you’ll eventually get an answer. However, don’t expect 24 hour response if you have not bought support. I found that almost every question can be answered by studying the documentation or the forums. Someone has probably already had a problem like yours.

Study the demo. Make sure you know what you want. Sometimes there are tiny things designed into the theme that you can’t live with–or can’t live without. FLUIDA is nearly perfect for me. It wasn’t at first, but I learned how to use it and now I think it’s superb. Nearly perfect. It is a well designed, properly functioning theme.
