gooood
I made a modified version of this theme for quick prototyping. It’s good that way since it’s clean, doesn’t use any non-standard fields for data and it’s relatively easy to customize. The free version doesn’t expose a whole lot to the interface, but if you’re familiar with CSS and have FTP access you’ll find the CSS straight-forward compared to many themes.
I found it easy to make child themes as the css is clear to read and pretty much everything you need to edit is in the style.css file. So, when you make changes, they usually show up instantly, rather than having to screw around with CSS from multiple sources interfering with your changes. So, even though it’s a few years old, it’s a surprisingly useful theme, especially for simple, corporate style sites. It’s also good for clients who are still vague about what they want but want to get started entering site data.
Support is really good, too. There were a couple of small display issues that I couldn’t resolve, so I went to the support forum and they posted code to me within a day that worked perfectly the first try and fixed all my concerns. And it was a free theme I was customizing, so they really didn’t have much of an obligation to me. So, that’s about as good as it gets for technical support.
The themes may look good, but don’t bother with them if you are a relative beginner and may need support. The support is almost non-existent, and is only available via a forum, which is clearly not monitored at all regularly by the company. You will wait for days and days and days and still not get a response.
no support, no demo content
Choosing the slides for the homepage requires your enter the page or post ID’s. Would have been nice if I could just choose from a dropdown.
Slider does NOT resize the featured images, so the slider changes in height with every slide, which is a bit silly….
